CPR/FIRST AID TRAINING
All employees shall obtain certification in adult CPR and standard First Aid (or the equivalent approved training) within ninety (90) days of their hire date. Residential and OEE Employees shall not be scheduled for a shift, or pick up a shift, unless they maintain current CPR/First Aid certification. CPR/First Aid certifications are one-day courses, and shall be renewed every two years.
CPR/First Aid trainings are offered in the community. Employees shall physically attend their initial First Aid and CPR training course at one of the approved sites listed below. Recertification’s can be done online or in a community class. Employees are responsible to maintain current certifications and provide a copy of the certification to Gateway. The Company does not pay an employee to attend CPR/First Aid training, but shall reimburse the cost of the training as follows:
- Initial CPR/First Aid class up to $75.00
- Online CPR Recertification up to $20.00
- Online First Aid class up to $20.00
Employees are responsible to fill out a reimbursement form and attach a copy of the training invoice. If a new employee receives reimbursement and does not continue employment for at least ninety (90) days, the reimbursed amount shall be deducted from their final check. Certifications that were received prior to employment shall not be reimbursed.
Below is a list of approved training sites. Employees who would like to attend a training site that is not listed here will need prior approval from his or her supervisor.
